How to choose a reliable handheld UV curing lamp?

Recently, I've been working on UV curing-related experiments and got my hands on a handheld high-intensity gas discharge lamp. Thought I'd share my experience for anyone with similar needs.

**The key highlight:** 365nm central wavelength with an effective range of 350–450nm. This spectrum works well for most UV adhesives, inks, and photocurable materials. The lamp tube is made of imported quartz glass, which delivers excellent UV transmittance—visibly "powerful" in action.

In practice, the **curing speed is impressive**—it's basically "cure on contact." Instant surface curing saves time and electricity, and since there's no solvent evaporation, it's relatively eco-friendly. The handheld design is a huge plus for tight spaces, offering much more flexibility than bulky stationary systems.

Two lamp head options are available—**metal and ceramic**. I'd personally recommend the ceramic version, as it comes with high-temperature-resistant wiring, making it more reliable for extended use. Also, a quick heads-up: **remember to wipe the lamp tube with alcohol before installation**—fingerprints can cause devitrification and drastically shorten its lifespan.

One more thing—UV radiation is no joke. **Always wear proper protective goggles.** Don't skip this step.

Overall, this lamp works well in applications like printing plate-making, ink drying, lab aging tests, semiconductor component fabrication, and more. If you need custom sizes, the manufacturer also offers bespoke solutions—pretty flexible.
